Is your company or firm making the leap from Groupwise to Outlook? I’ve found the trick to proper training is to group people according to job responsibilites. For example, when training law firms, I’ve found it helpful to train the attorneys in one session and the paralagals and legal assistants in other sessions. Typically, Attorney sessions are shorter, and the paralegal sessions are more in-depth. The attorneys want to get in and get out, the paralegals want to get in, and get stuff out of the training.
Jared Hawk teaches Groupwise to Outlook Training via webinar and onsite engagements.

Actually, I don’t. I love it. But I hear people frustrated with VLOOKUP- they set the formula up correctly and voila! nothing. Here is something to keep in mind when you set it up- you need to sort the first column of data in ascending order, or Excel won’t be able to perform the lookup.

I didn’t like it at first. In fact, I was quite a vocal critic. After using Excel 2007 for some time now, I think it has advantages- one major one being the vastly improved charting. It still has a learning curve, but is worth the time.

In my Excel classes, we talk about some of the differences of Access and Excel. This course from Microsoft gives some good advice, but remember one thing: Even if Access has advantages in some circumstances, if your team and IT group won’t support it, it may be easier to use Excel for anything you will need to share or collaborate on.
